to develop an application
The IT department of a major central Public Administration needed a new development model to accelerate application modernization. The traditional method showed significant limitations: long timelines, high costs, and a limited ability to quickly incorporate new requirements. A more agile and flexible approach was therefore necessary, one capable of responding effectively to user needs.
The challenge also included managing a growing backlog and integrating with existing cross-cutting services while ensuring security and scalability. The ultimate goal was to create custom applications faster, reduce technical debt, and free up resources for innovation.
WebRatio Platform was chosen to accelerate development while maintaining industrial-grade quality, thanks to visual modeling and standardized code generation. Two applications were built: one to manage requests for quality-gate waivers, and another to support integrations between applications through a ticketing system. Collaborative development made it possible to create reusable components and applications consistent with internal guidelines.
The adoption of the Agile methodology and full integration with the DevOps cycle ensured frequent releases, high quality, and tight environment control.
In just six months, the combined adoption of Low-Code, DevOps, and Agile enabled the Administration to release multiple internal applications, including a mission-critical system delivered in eight weeks. The development team increased both productivity and innovation capacity, reducing the backlog and technical debt.
The applications were built quickly even by junior developers, thanks to the simplicity of the tools and the ability to create custom components. This combination improved development management, control, and autonomy, reduced dependency on external vendors, and strengthened internal know-how.
The speed of implementation made it possible to respond quickly to business needs, turning ideas and requirements into fully functional applications within just a few weeks. Furthermore, the platform seamlessly integrated into the existing software development lifecycle and the DevOps practices already adopted by the Administration, avoiding additional complexity or disruption of established processes.
