Rapid mobile apps development and IoT. WebRatio holds the first European contest that looks to the digital future takes place in Italy

THE EVENT

MILAN - September 2, 2015 - From 28 to 30 September, the Mobile Development Days will take place in the ComoNExT Technological Scientific Park in Lomazzo (CO). WebRatio and Polytechnic University of Milan, under the European project Automobile, have organized a 3-day event with trainings and workshops on rapid mobile app development. Participants can discover the model-driven development approach by using a visual tool that lets them build apps without writing code and 9 times faster than other development standards.

THE CONTEST

The event includes the HackApp | WebRatio IoT Mobile App Contest. WebRatio has organized the first contest in Europe to focus on the rapid development of smartphone and tablet apps that connect to IoT sensors. The attendees will compete to build the best app using the WebRatio Mobile Platform. The Apps will communicate with IoT sensors provided by Eurotech (such as a people-counter sensor that calculate the number of persons in a room or an environmental sensor that measures temperature and humidity). The apps will be deployed on the RedHat Cloud Openshift system. The winning App will be chosen for its innovation, usefulness, use of technologies and user experience design.

THE DIGITAL FUTURE IS NAMED IoT

Internet of Things is a concept that looks to the future of Internet, in which objects are connected online with sensors that measure and send data to the network, creating smart systems that provide useful data and smart objects that can help people to interact with the environment they live in. Apps will be more and more useful, becoming tools to visualize smart data and control smart objects.
