Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation: The digitization of the nonprofit sector with the Low-Code of WebRatio

The Italian Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation is a nonprofit organization recognized by the MIUR (Ministry of Education, University and Research) that promotes scientific research on cystic fibrosis, the most common serious genetic disease in Italy without a cure. It makes use of a network of about 1,000 researchers and the work of over 150 delegations and support groups distributed throughout the Italian regions, with 10,000 volunteers who raise funds and provide information on cystic fibrosis. Since 2002, the Foundation has invested 34.5 million euros in 439 research projects and more than 400 scholarships.

Thanks to the digitalization of processes, the Foundation has the opportunity to save time and resources that can be dedicated to activities with greater added value to optimize the management of funding and research projects. This is the intent of the “Database for Research” solution, which will be implemented using the WebRatio Low-Code in a few weeks. Thanks to this solution, the Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation aims to simplify and automate the management of data and related information for project financing activities.

One of the principles that guides WebRatio is that “Technological innovation must be made simple and accessible”. We believe in continuous research and dissemination; today, we are pleased to say that the innovation brought by WebRatio Platform will also be at the service of the nonprofit sector and the scientific community dedicated to research on cystic fibrosis.
