CEO

Stefano Butti is the CEO of Web Models. He is responsible for setting the overall direction and business development strategy for the company. He leads also marketing and communication activities. In 2001 he was one of the founders of Web Models where he served in different roles: WebRatio analyst, sales engineer, application development manager, software factory manager and sales manager. He graduated at ENSTA Paris and at Politecnico di Milano.

Pierpaolo Signorile's career starts in 1990. After a brief period in which he covers a technical role, he become account & sales manager for the IT department of a pharmaceutical industry. From 2001 to 2006 he works for a multinational company and his responsibilities grow to the role of strategic account. Since 2007 he works for Web Models at first as business development manager and since 2009 as sales manager.

Aldo Bongio graduates at Politecnico di Milano. In 2001 he is one of the company’s founders. He is the developer of the first version of the WebRatio runtime framework and code generator. He is co-author of the book: Designing Data-Intensive Web Applications (Morgan-Kaufmann, 2002). Currently he is the Chief Architect and R&D Director of WebRatio and the Software Factory Manager of Web Models.

Full Professor of Database Systems at Politecnico di Milano

Stefano Ceri is full professor of Database Systems at Politecnico di Milano; he was visiting professor at the Computer Science Department of Stanford University between 1983 and 1990. He is member of the VLDB Endowment and of the EDBT Foundation. He was Associate Editor of ACM-Transactions on Database Systems and is currently associated editor of several journals, including IEEE-Transactions on Software Engineering. He is author of several international books on general computer science, distributed databases, active databases, and conceptual design, including Designing Data-Intensive Web Applications (Morgan-Kaufmann, 2002). He won the VLDB Ten Years Award in 2000 (VLDB in Cairo) and was the Coordinating Program Chair of VLDB 2001 in Rome.

Full Professor of Web Information System at Politecnico di Milano

Piero Fraternali is full professor of Web Technologies at Politecnico di Milano. He is associate editor of the international Journal of Web Engineering. In 2004 he was the president for the international conference ICWE (International Conference on Web Engineering). His research and professional interests span business rules, object-orientation, design methods for data-intensive Web sites, CASE tools for automatic Web site production, and wireless applications. He is author of several articles on International Journals and Conference Proceedings, and co-author of the books: Designing Database Applications with Objects and Rules: the IDEA Methodology (Addison-Wesley, 1997) and Designing Data-Intensive Web Applications (Morgan-Kaufmann, 2002).

Scientific Advisor

Marco Brambilla collaborates to several research projects related to web engineering, business processes, SOA, Web services, Semantic Web, semistructured data mapping, RIAs, web architectures for embedded systems. He graduated in Information Engineering at the Politecnico di Milano in April 2001 and in 2005 he got a Ph.D. in Information Engineering at Politecnico di Milano. He spent two months internship in Cisco Systems (San Josè, CA, USA) and 6 months as visiting researcher at UCSD (University of California, San Diego). He is coauthor of the book “Designing Data-Intensive Web Applications” (Morgan-Kauffman, 2002) and of several scientific articles.
